CREATIVE USES FOR EEL GRASS AND “CHESAPEAKEVILLE”

This past early August saw some of the seaweed-iest days we’ve ever seen along the Jersey Shore. It was literally enrobing all parts of us as we swam in the ocean. However, human creativity knows no bounds as we came across the above excellent use for said seaweed. The island was almost virtually self-promoting to passing aircraft and winged wild life. Beautiful and ecological. It suggested the low-tech approach of a recently discovered Journal “Chesapeakeville” and the area of Virginia around that big Chesapeake Bay which it focuses on and that is struggling to be better recognized. Just imagine the possibilities of spelling out this rather long name and identifying the Eastern Shore areas while passing overhead. Facetious idea? Possibly. The Journal’s founder came across my maps and I, in turn, discovered his wonderful paean to the Watermen of his chosen area. Recognition can come from unexpected places and serendipity should not be discounted or undervalued. If you have a chance, check out the publication online, whether you think the organic lettering has potential or not. The tone and content of the Journal will make your day better. Cheers!
