Home to the largest group of existing 19th century Victorian buildings, the Queen City located in the southern portion of Long Beach Island, developed around this historic core. Once-grand hotels along the beach front serviced by railroad and ferry terminals gave access to a vibrant seaside family resort. Today, the Island’s main spine, Bay Avenue, passes through the bustling commercial downtown, including Bay Village and Schooner’s Wharf, on its way to the nature preserve at the southern tip.
