The ninth map starts to reach the southernmost parts of the Bay where significant water features begin to mix with built development. The eastern shore remains more pristine with major marshes and island groups, culminating with Cape Charles and Fishermans Island. The western shore, divided by Mobjack Bay and the York River, is dotted with towns and hamlets such as Poquoson, as it approaches the major port terminus around Hampton Roads and Norfolk.
